Hillside Rebuild Begins

The Hillside Trail Rebuild has begun!

Long time local riders will remember that first day some years ago when we broke ground and began our trail-building attack on Hillside behind the water tower. Soon we had a two-mile-plus system accessible from town for those quick, lunch time rides.

Then came the great disappointment. Logging forced by an epidemic of Beech Bark Disease did serious damage to the trail system, all but obliterating it.

Thanks to some generous sponsorship by the Munising Visitors Bureau we are able to begin rebuilding the system. Trail Artist Matt Belic is hard at work this fall roughing in the trail and doing as much finish work as he can before winter strikes in its full fury. Final finishing is planned for Spring 2016.
